Maintaining Healthy Weight
Weight Maintenance
If you are already at a healthy weight, congratulations – stay there! Losing or gaining too much weight may be life shortening. Use the NIH guidelines for healthy BMI (Body Mass Index) – which relates weight to your height – provided in Chapter 7, “Cancer Prevention.” And by all means set your line-in-the-sand weights – a healthy weight below which you will not go and a healthy weight above which you will not go.
Healthy weight = slower aging?
Even though your weight and calorie intake may be within healthy norms, you may not be slowing aging unless you plan your diet to activate the biology described in The CR Way. See Chapter 1, “Calorie Restriction” for more on how to activate your longevity system.
